Our History is Rich With
Spanesi has a rich history filled with experience and passion for the automotive industry. Our journey began in 1958 and today we have evolved into a global leader, driven by our commitment to excellence and innovation.
Orazio rode a bicycle over 22 miles round trip from his house the body shop. The bicycle was too tall for him, so he had to pass one foot through the frame in order to pedal. He soon became enamored with the body technician trade.
After perfecting the necessary skills and techniques, Orazio decided to open his own body shop, buying all of the best equipment available on the market.
His new equipment purchases lacked the performance he had hoped to achieve. Orazio Spanesi began to develop and manufacture equipment, with the exceptional insights of his body technician background. This is the secret of the success behind the Spanesi brand.
Spanesi saw the importance of creating products and solutions that could be utilized universally. By integrating a universal jig system, combined with a lift, and a 360 pulling system, Spanesi developed a work center that allowed body shops to work more efficiently and effectively.
The creation of the universal measurement system known as the Touch is a clear illustration of the way in which Orazio Spanesi ‘invents’. He finds a good idea, develops it at the right time and improves it thanks to an in-depth knowledge of practical needs. From the first drawing in 1998, to the award winning showcase at the 2005 Paris EquipAuto Trade Fair, to the most recent model, the Spanesi Touch is considered to be the most efficient electronic measurement system on the market.
Spray Booths are an important part of Spanesi’s history and our future. Orazio wanted to create Spray Booths that met the needs of clients and provided high performance results. In 2007 Orazio, along with his incredible team, made his wants a reality and Spray Booth production began.
Although the first invention of the original Minibench was in 1999, the model that you see today was developed in 2011. This change came after years of research and development to help provide Spanesi Customers with the best possible benches for their body shops.
In 2012, the Multibench was born. This powerful structural repair workstation was designed specifically to meet the needs of body shops who were looking to lift vehicles directly from their wheels, while also having a very small footprint.
In 2019, Spanesi celebrated 50 years in business. To celebrate this extraordinary accomplishment, Spanesi built its new showroom, a truly modern technological triumph, which hosts training events within the “Spanesi Academy” program.
In June of 2024, Spanesi implemented a huge and important investment for the expansion plan in the Chinese and Asian markets. Spanesi is proud to have opened the Jintan, China production facility, showroom, and training center dedicated to the collision repair industry.
